Sara Symington is the Performance Director for UK Athletics and a former GB Olympic cyclist. After the 2004 Athens games she retired and worked as a policewoman and performance advisor for UK Sport. I worked with Sara for the GB Olympic Archery team and with the England Netball team between 2013-2016. Sara oversaw the team’s Gold medal-winning performance against favourites Australia, in a thrilling last second victory. In this interview I wanted to find out about the mindset, thinking and focus that Sara has used in her career in order to successfully run both the business and sporting performance parts of her role and what makes her tick.
